All New VR-4D Released

April 5, 2005 - Clear Blue Audio Video, a manufacturer of high-end audio/video switching and routing solutions recently announced that an addition will be made to their VR-4 line of 4 input / 1 output A/V switchers. Current models include the ability to switch video in formats such as Composite (VR-4), S-Video (VR-4Y), Component (VR-4CA) and RGBHV (VR-4R). The latest addition, which will be formally unveiled during InfoComm in June of this year, will allow users to tie four VGA sources to a single output. The new device (VR-4D) can be controlled manually by IR commands that can be taught to the device, or can be configured to automatically switch upon detecting video sync pulse from one of the connected sources.

The new unit is ideal for institutional settings where many users need to have access to the same projector/monitor. For example, in a boardroom setting where up to four users are scheduled to make a presentation, all users can plug into one of the four VGA ports on the device and hit the external monitor toggle button on their laptop to power down their computer monitor. When a user is ready to make their presentation, they would simply press the external monitor toggle button again to restore their monitor. This will send a video sync pulse to the switcher, at which point the projector/monitor will display the signal coming in from that source.

To facilitate the scheduling constraints of office boardrooms, this unit makes it possible to set up an additional presentation room with minimal equipment involved. The lightweight nature of the VR-4D makes it convenient to share ideas from many users even when your office's boardroom is occupied.

Additionally, more than one VR-4D can be chained together to increase the number of inputs that can be used. By having one central VR-4D and four remote VR-4D's connected to the central device, one can have to 16 inputs to create a truly interactive multimedia presentation.
